Flip Phone Lighter

This art object was an exploration of remaking and repurposing a ubiquitous object. The cultural iconography of the flip phone and the often communal way that lighters are used and shared is incredibly interesting. Lighters, like phones, can bring people together and eye-catching lighter designs can become elements to comment on and start a conversation with a stranger.
